The nose shows spiciness and red cherries with dark chocolate complexity. The palate has excellent fruit weight complemented by blackcurrant and spice. The complexity of the wine integrates seamlessly with the oak maturation making this a very well balanced wine. Fine tannins provide added complexity to the lingering finish.

Produced by Diemersdal and made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ukuthela Wine Tasting Club was started by a group of friends in July 2007 with the soul purpose being to learn more about wines as a group.

Ukuthela is an isiZulu word meaning "to pour". Our Latin motto, "vinum et musica laetificant cor", translates to "wine and music gladden the heart".

We are a non-profit organisation and membership is both voluntary and free.

However, all members and guests are required to pay a monthly levy (in advance) to cover the cost of the tasting event.

The number of wines tasted is determined by the number of confirmed attendees. By sharing the expense as a group it allows us to taste a bigger range of wines in a shorter space of time at a fraction of the cost.

The aim of the club is to provide a forum for members and friends to taste and discuss wines and other foods associated with wine, like cheese and olives.

The typical tasting format is one of blind-tasting and although the event is interactive it is suggested that attendees not influence each other when rating the wines.

We meet once a month with each member getting an opportunity to host the event at his/her home.

A monthly newsletter detailing the wine tasting is circulated via e-mail to all members.
